1. Learn three new words every day

Buy yourself a Persian dictionary, and every day choose five words to memorize and try using them in sentences. Choose a time to do this whenever you consistently have 5 minutes to sit down and look at the dictionary, perhaps after dinner or before bed. Write out a Persian word; say it aloud a few times; use it in two different sentences. Keep a notebook of the Persian words you’ve learned so you can go back and review them if you forget them.

You can make a game out of it and use colorful sticky notes to post the new Persian words around the house (maybe in the kitchen?) and also you can challenge other family members to help you remember the words and how to use them.

2. Practice in small portions every day

Continuous practice is so important.

Have you ever heard this phrase: practice makes perfect?

No matter what you want to learn, you should practice a lot to make progress. It doesn’t matter if you want to learn a musical instrument, do a sport play a game, or learn to knit.

If you don’t practice, you cannot improve your skills.

Well, if you want to learn Persian, that’s the same. The more you practice Persian, the better you will become!

This is clear to everyone, but…

Many learners don’t know that it is much more effective to learn Persian in small portions every day, instead of just for several hours at the weekend.

Actually, if you study twice a day for 30 minutes, that’s 7 hours a week.

If you only study one day per week, 7 hours in a row, that’s the same amount of time, but you won’t learn lessons nearly as much as if you had split the study material over several days.
