Persian is one of the Indo-European languages that is common in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The language is also spoken in parts of India and Pakistan. The Farsi (or Persian) language in Afghanistan is officially Dari and in Tajikistan it is called “Tajik“.
Persian is the official language in Iran and Tajikistan. It is one of the two official languages of Afghanistan (along with Pashto). Currently, more than one hundred and ten million people around the world speak the sweet Persian language.
The Persian language originated from the land of Persia around the present-day province of Fars in southern Iran and has spread to other Iranian lands since two thousand years ago.
