| If your outward appearance be hideous, or fine, Has. it not been portrayed by the Artist Divine? | گرت صورت حال بد یا نکوست نگارنده دست تقدیر، اوست |
| In this person some hid infidelity see, Who declares, “Zaid afflicted and Omar smote me.” | در این نوعی از شرک پوشیده هست که زیدم بیازرد و عمروم بخست |
| If the Lord of command will vouchsafe to you eyes, Not again will you see Zaid and Omar arise. | گرت دیده بخشد خدواند امر نبینی دگر صورت زید و عمرو |
| If a man remain silent, I do not suppose That his means of subsistence the Maker will close. | نپندارم ار بنده دم درکشد خدایش به روزی قلم درکشد |
| May the Maker of Earth keep it open for thee! If He closes food’s portal it cannot ope’d be. | جهان آفرینت گشایش دهاد که گر وی ببندد نشاید گشاد |
