You, just be happy with Hafez; tell the enemy to go and give up the ghost. Since I feel warmth from you, why should I fear my cold-breathed enemy?

What this fâl tells you

Your desire grows each time you see the one you love, and you wish they would ask after you. Tradition reads this fal as a sign that closeness is possible: the warmth you feel is returned, and cold words from others cannot harm you. Make the first move, ask kindly, and let your faithfulness speak.

A traditional-style reading for reflection and enjoyment.

How this ghazal is built

radif: -am ("my" / "I"). qâfiye: -ard (dard, gard, âvard, khord, kard, sard); beyt 1 rhymes dardam with har dam ("every moment"), and many half-lines rhyme internally.
