What this fâl tells you

Good news from someone dear is on its way: tradition reads this fal as a sign that the days of separation are nearly over and the tents of reunion are already in sight. Keep your promises, even when other attractions call. Welcome the coming meeting warmly, and hope for a happy time together soon.

A traditional-style reading for reflection and enjoyment.

How this ghazal is built

radif: none. qâfiye: -âmi (gharâmi, gerâmi, salâmi, shâmi, hamâmi, khiyâmi, maghâmi, tamâmi, manâmi, gholâmi, nezâmi). A macaronic ghazal: beyts 4 and 8, the first half of beyts 1 and 7, and the second half of beyts 2, 5 and 6 are Arabic. Shâmi in beyt 3 puns on shâm "evening" and Shâm "Syria".
