Persian Wordle (Vâzhe) is a free daily word game in Farsi: guess the hidden 5-letter Persian word in six tries, with green, yellow and grey clues. It is built for learners, so every guess is also shown joined up with its transliteration and meaning, and you can play an easy 4-letter version or unlimited practice words.
On a computer just type: your keyboard is mapped to the standard Persian layout (Shift+H = آ, Shift+C = ژ), and a Persian system keyboard works too.
How to play Persian Wordle
- Type a real Persian word with the right number of letters (5, or 4 in Easy mode) and press Enter. Persian is written right to left, so the first letter goes in the rightmost tile.
- Each tile changes colour, and also shows a symbol so you do not need to tell colours apart:
Under every row you see your guess written the normal way, with the letters joined, plus its Finglish transliteration and English meaning. Separate tiles show each letter in its stand-alone form, but real Persian text joins letters together, so the line underneath trains you to read words as they actually look.
You have six tries. Everyone gets the same daily word, and a new one appears at midnight Tehran time (UTC+3:30); the countdown in the game shows how long is left. After the game you see the word with its pronunciation, meaning, a link to its Persian dictionary entry and a short lesson about its letters. Use Practice to keep playing with random words, and Easy for a separate daily 4-letter word.
Stuck? Three optional hints are there for learners: the first sound in Finglish, the word’s category, and its English meaning (available after three guesses). Hints you use are shown as 💡 in your shared result, so it stays honest.
Tips for Persian letters
Persian Wordle is really a spelling game, and Persian spelling has a few traps that English speakers do not expect. These are the ones that matter most:
- Dots change the letter. ب پ ت ث have the same body and differ only in their dots, as do ج چ ح خ, د ذ, ر ز ژ, س ش, ص ض, ط ظ, ع غ and ف ق. Read the dots before you rule a letter out.
- Seven letters never join forward. ا (and آ), د, ذ, ر, ز, ژ and و connect to the letter before them but never to the one after. That is why a word like باران (bârân, rain) breaks into pieces: با + را + ن.
- Several letters share one sound. Arabic loanwords kept their original spelling, so Persian has more letters than sounds. Use these groups when a guess comes back yellow or grey:
| Sound | Letters | Example |
|---|---|---|
| z | ز ذ ض ظ | زبان zabân (language), لذیذ laziz (delicious) |
| s | س ص ث | سلام salâm, صابون sâbun (soap), ثانیه sâniye (second) |
| t | ت ط | تاکسی tâksi, قطار ghatâr (train) |
| h | ه ح | هفته hafte (week), حمام hammâm (bathroom) |
| gh | ق غ | قهوه ghahve (coffee), غروب ghorub (sunset) |
- Short vowels are not written. The vowels a, e and o usually have no letter, so کتاب (ketâb) has only 4 letters. Long vowels are written: â with ا, i with ی, u with و.
- Final ه is often a vowel. At the end of many words ه stands for the sound e, as in خانه (khâne, house). Words ending in ه are very common, so it is a good letter to test.
- A good first guess uses common letters such as ا, ر, ی, ن, م, د and ه. Try مادری or ایران.
What counts as a letter
Every tile is one Persian letter as written, so a word’s length is its number of letters, not its number of sounds. Spaces, the half-space (ZWNJ) and vowel marks are not used, and the daily answers never contain hamza forms (ء ئ أ ؤ). آ is its own letter: it is typed as one key (Shift+H), written as one character and gets its own tile, separate from ا, so آسمان (âsemân, sky) is آ‑س‑م‑ا‑ن. If you type a plain ا at the start where the word needs آ, the game corrects it for you and tells you why.
Answers come from a hand-picked list of common, everyday words (nouns, adjectives, everyday adverbs and verb infinitives) from our dictionary’s core vocabulary. Guesses can be any word in a larger list of real 4- and 5-letter Persian words, including common verb forms like رفتند (raftand, they went) and plurals with ‑hâ. The daily word is picked from the Tehran date in a fixed order, so everyone in the world gets the same puzzle.

FAQ
Is there a Wordle in Persian (Farsi)?
Yes. This page is a free Persian Wordle, also called Vâzhe (واژه, “word”). It works like the original: guess a 5-letter word in six tries, with a new daily word for everyone. It adds learner features such as joined-up guesses, transliteration, meanings, hints and an easy 4-letter mode.
When does the daily Persian word change?
At midnight Tehran time (Iran Standard Time, UTC+3:30). That is 20:30 UTC the evening before, so in Europe the new word arrives in the evening and in the Americas in the afternoon (around midday on the US west coast). The countdown in the game shows the exact time left.
How is آ treated?
آ (alef madde, the sound â at the start of a word) counts as its own letter with its own tile and key. It is not matched with ا, so if the answer starts with آ, only آ turns green. If you type ا where a word needs آ, the game fixes the spelling for you.
What if a letter appears twice?
Same as the original Wordle: each colour matches one copy of the letter. If you guess a letter twice and the word has it only once, one tile is coloured and the other turns grey.
Can beginners play without knowing the Persian keyboard?
Yes. The on-screen keys are in alphabet order by default, and each one shows its letter name when you hover. You can switch to the standard Persian layout, and on a computer your normal keyboard is mapped to it. The Easy mode and the hints are made for beginners.
Where are my stats and streak saved?
In your own browser (local storage), so there is no account or sign-up. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, your statistics start again from zero.
