What this fâl tells you

This ghazal weighs things and finds that many glittering prizes are not worth their price. Tradition reads it as advice to choose contentment and peace of mind over a gain that comes with fear or with owing favors to unworthy people. Do not spend your days in sorrow; what you already have may be enough.

A traditional-style reading for reflection and enjoyment.

How this ghazal is built

radif: nemiarzad. qâfiye: -ar (yeksar, behtar, sâghar, dar, sar, gowhar, lashkar, zar).
